I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
3 Matthew 16:19
This is page one of my book! The key has been a big symbol in my life, therefore in dealing with my big idea of identity it was a, must to incorporate the key into a page. I placed the key into this jewelry box because of the bible verse with in it. "Oh taste and see that the LORD is good" Psalms 34:8. This speaks light on the issue of self doubt that I am constantly batting! Remembering that God is good and through him I can do all things makes me think and feel that I have the key to any door that is not open! Yet I have to fight to keep this in the front of my mind.
“Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.”
Buddha
“Do not hide your light for fear of what others may think of you. Let it shine and be a reflection of what is possible.”
Kristi Bowman
“The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.”
Thomas Merton
This is page two of my of my book! This page has more to deal with the reflection. I use lots of reflective material in my art work to cause the viewer to become apart of the art piece itself. In doing so this speak even more to how I portray my identity. I view that every person offers something to yourself, even if you spent just a split second with them.
