This page of the light bulb within the jewelry box was inspired by a photograph by photographer Abelardo Morell. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO my freshman year. I was drawn to the way that Morell works. He started photographing using a camera obscura which method is dated back to the 10th century. Morell's photographer touched me so deep that I continue to be influenced by his work in other mediums that I use. Below is the photograph that this page is arises from. Also I have the embedded a link to Abelardo Morell website PLEASE do check it out!
These are just a few quotes and scriptures about rocks that are inspire me.
“I do not know how I may seem to others, but to myself I am only a small child wandering upon the vast shores of knowledge, every now and then finding a small bright pebble to be contented with.” Plato
“He who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones first”
“There is none holy like the Lord; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God." -1 Samuel 2:2 ESV
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. -Psalm 18:2
Artist That Work With Rock:
Bill Dan:
Is an artist that creates seemingly impossible, temporary balanced sculptures from un-worked rock and stone in public spaces. Here is a photography and a video of him creating one of his pieces.
Lin Wellford:
Lin Wellford fell in love with the water tumbled rocks that lined the local creek banks. I loved the sizes and shapes and the naturalness of these rocks so much that I began collecting ones that looked like small potaoes and painting them into little wild rabbits. The transformation was magical! Soon I was painting all kinds of rock animals.

I LOVE Abelardo Morell! I, too, was at the Kansas City Art Musem when he spoke. I didn't even know you then! Crazy... :)
