Series

Series- A group or a number of related or similar things, events, etc, arranged or occurring in temporal, spatial, or other order or succession; sequence.

The idea of series in artworks is more complex than I thought after contemplated this the reading I received a renewed understanding of what a series is. As I am beginning a new body of work which will take the format of a series, I have had to think more about how will I arrange the gallery space that is to house the images and furthermore I have to think about the over all series as I photography the story. These issues are all important because they will affect and effect the impact of the series.

Bird's emphasis of the power of a series, has to some extent caused me to become anxious with my work. He appears to speak light to the fact of how even the piece within a series has to have the power to stand alone. To be honest this idea should not be surprising to me, and I mean it wasn't a shocker but I feel that in working on my idea I have forgotten this point.  Though the " fullest meaning... is when it is seen together with the others"  When viewed each piece should have the capability to stand alone.
