The Unconscious

Unconscious - The part of the psyche lying far below consciousness and not easily raised into consciousness. In Freudian psychology, the unconscious cannot be directly observed with the conscious mind, but it has its own processes and deeply affects conscious thought.

Okay, again Bird’s writing appears to be unfocused to me and a little scattered. Nonetheless I dug into my bag of past readings that dealt with the topic of unconscious but this time in a less direct means. My favorite would be that of the writings of Fredrick Douglass.

After having read Fredrick Douglass speech “The Hypocrisy of American Slavery” and his idea of the veil, I was influence and cause to contemplate on my work.  The reading alter the way in which I reflected on my on work but mostly my photography due to the subject matter in which I am shooting.  Now I really divulge myself in the looking at my pieces an analyzing exactly what was it that I was trying to achieve. This unconscious realm is mind-blowing real.  I love this idea deep and see this following me into my master program in art therapy.
